Below are some important notes and reminders as we head into the final week of school:

Four Day Weekend

There is no school Friday, May 24 and Monday, May 27. We look forward to having everyone back for the final week of school on Tuesday, May 28. There is no Temple Tuesday, since we will be celebrating Ratha Yatra. All students should arrive at school at 8:00 a.m.

Ratha Yatra Day

We are holding our annual Ratha Yatra on Tuesday, May 28. Lunch will be provided to all students on this day. Elementary and MYP students are encouraged to bring a change of clothes and a towel for water activities in the afternoon. All classes will be dismissed at 2 p.m.

We are seeking volunteers to help out with setup, lunch prep/serve out, and cleanup. Please contact Saradiya at (352) 317-3431 smsyer@gmail.com, or Anapayini at (352) 538-7899 dasidance@gmail.com‬ if you can help out.

We are also asking for help with making cookie offerings for Lord Jagannatha. Bring cookies to school on Tuesday morning for a special offering.

School Library Books Due

If your child has any books checked out from the school library, please return them on Tuesday, May 28. Any lost book replacement fees will be billed via TADS.

End of Year Ceremony

Bhaktivedanta Academy's end of year ceremony for Pre-K through Upper Elementary is on Thursday, May 30. Our end of year ceremony will have recitations, songs and certificate presentations for our kindergarten, 3rd grade, and 6th grade students and will be divided into two ceremonies:

Bhakti Bhavan

8:30 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. in the Madhurya Bhavan classroom

Audarya and Madhurya Bhavan

9:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. in the Madhurya Bhavan classroom

All students should arrive 15 minutes before their ceremony time. This is a uniform day, so we ask that all students come looking their best. The 2018-2019 school year will officially end at the conclusion of each ceremony. There is no after care.

Krishna Sharanam Class Celebration and 10th Grade Graduation

Our 10th grade graduation will be taking place on Thursday, May 30 from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. at the Alachua Women’s Club. All Krishna Sharanam students should arrive at 5 p.m. for final preparations and pictures. Everyone except for the graduates are required to be in school uniform. Krishna Sharanam students will not be attending class on Thursday.

Blue Springs Family Fun Day

Our family fun day at Blue Springs is on Friday, May 31 from 10:00 a.m - 5:00 p.m. Come join us at Gilchrist Blue Springs State Park for a day of fun as we celebrate the end of another school year. The entire family is invited! There will be no school this day. Admission fees ($6 per vehicle) are paid upon arrival at the park. A pavilion has been reserved by the PTO which ensures admission for our entire group. If you are told the park has hit capacity, mention you are with Bhaktivedanta Academy to be allowed in.

On behalf of the teachers and staff, thank you for entrusting us with the education of your children and for another great year together. We are looking forward to August 12 when we will welcome our returning students back. We wish you all a happy and safe summer.
