Harvest Festival/Govardhana Puja Volunteers Needed

Bhaktivedanta Academy's annual Harvest Festival will be on Thursday, October 27th.  All students come to school dressed as their favorite character from Krishna's pastimes and participate in a variety of fun activities, such as ox cart rides, apple bobbing, crafts, etc.

This year our festival falls on Govardhana Puja, which gives us a special opportunity to celebrate.  In addition to the usual activities, the students in Madhurya Bhavan will lead the construction of our own Govardhana Hill with edible items brought by all students.  We invite everyone to come celebrate with us at 1:30 p.m. as we circumambulate the hill and distribute the preparations.  This should be a great event.

We are in need of parent volunteers to help with the various activities from 8:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.  Please sign-up online to volunteer.

With your help we will be able to put on a fun-filled celebration for everyone.

Thank you!

Bhaktivedanta Academy Featured in ISKCON News

ISKCON News has just published a feature article about Bhaktivedanta Academy. It is a great story about the school that I think you will enjoy reading:

It’s 8:30am when I arrive at the Bhaktivedanta Academy, a private elementary school located on a leafy five-acre plot at ISKCON’s New Raman Reti farm in Alachua, Florida. It’s August 31st, and school has been back in for about a week.

The quiet, peaceful group of mobile home buildings, with its blue and yellow sign depicting a glowing open book with a lotus flower rising out of it, is amongst only a handful of ISKCON schools left in North America. And with fifty-four students, it’s easily the largest...

Jaya Radhe!

On behalf of the teachers and students of Bhaktivedanta Academy, we would like to wish you a wonderful Radhastami.

As you take darshan of the deities at the New Raman Reti temple on Sunday, please note the beautiful turban pieces. They were sponsored by the students of Bhaktivedanta Academy. During the month of May, children in each class performed chores at home, sold items, and dipped into their savings to collect over $200 as an offering to Srimati Radharani on her appearance day. It is heartening to witness so much enthusiasm and love that our students have for the Lord and his associates.

P.S. Don't miss your chance to support Bhaktivedanta Academy by offering a rose to Srimati Radharani. We still have a limited number of roses available. Look for our table at the New Raman Reti temple from 4:00 - 5:30 p.m. or reserve online at http://www.bhaktivedantaacademy.org/order-form.
