PTO Meeting Invitation

Please join us on Monday, October 21st at 2:00 p.m. in the Bhakti Bhavan classroom for a PTO (Parent Teacher Organization) meeting.  Childcare will be provided (3 and older). We will be discussing the upcoming Harvest Festival and goals for the school year.

Open House Reminder

Event Details: Please join us for our annual open house event on Friday, October 18th from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. Come visit all the classrooms and see student work demonstrations, participate in a special Damodara prayer and candle offering, and enjoy tea and cookies. We look forward to seeing you!

Health Policy Reminder

As flu season approaches, we want to make sure everyone is up to date on our health policies. For the health and safety of all students and teachers, please don't send your child to school if they have any of the following medical conditions or symptoms: 

• Temperature of 100 degrees fahrenheit or higher.
• Diarrhea (more than one abnormally loose stool within a 24 hour period) with blood or mucus.
• Vomiting.
• Rash with fever or behavioral change.
• Rash with hives or itching.
• Fever with sore throat or cough (Influenza).
• Oral lesions (sores).
• Conjunctivitis (pink eye).
• Lice.
• Scabies (contagious skin infection caused by parasites).
• Neck swelling (often an early symptom of mumps).
• Stiff neck.
• Draining sore, boil, or abscess that cannot be covered, or sores that ooze.
• Difficult or rapid breathing.
• Severe coughing, which is causing the child to become red or blue in the face or to make a whooping sound.
• Yellowish skin or eyes.
• Any condition which prevents a child from participating comfortably or with greater care required than what can be provided at school.

In all cases, children must be free from fever and vomiting for at least 24 hours before returning to school.

Important Dates for October

New this school year, students in Audarya Bhavan (1st - 3rd grade), Madhurya Bhavan (4th - 6th grade), and Krishna Sharanam (7th grade) will meet every Friday at the New Raman Reti temple at 7:20 a.m. Teachers will be on duty at the temple to accept students at this time.

Family Community Meeting Tonight

We hope that you will all come to our first Family Community Meeting of the school year tonight at 6:00 p.m. Here are a couple things we have to share with you:

Interactive demonstration of our new Mani Mandala scriptural study program. Experience first hand how your child is learning the essential teachings of the Bhagavad-Gita and Srimad Bhagavatam with this innovative approach.

O Atlantic Performance. In commemoration of the anniversary of Srila Prabhupada's arrival in the United States, students in Audarya Bhavan performed a tribute about Srila Prabhupada's journey from India to the west set to a musical score by Yamini dasi. We will replay this heartwarming tribute for you tonight.

We will also discuss the progress of our middle school expansion/fundraising, upcoming PTO activities, and anything else you would like to talk about.

Childcare (children 3 years and older) and snacks will be provided. We look forward to seeing you!
