Audarya Bhavan January Newsletter

Dear Families,

January is here, and we are looking forward to the New Year. These past few months, our classroom has been excited about serving Krishna’s cows. We collected over $200 which paid for a new gate, pasture maintenance, bale of hay, and veterinary care. We are thankful to all the students who gave of their time and money to raise the money.

Many exciting things to do and learn are in store for children in Audarya Bhavan during the coming weeks. This month we will talk about Martin Luther King Jr. and about peaceful ways to resolve conflicts. We will also discuss Srila Prabhupada’s peace formula for the world. We will also begin the study of the European continent through its cultures, animals and plants. We have some special birthdays: Ramananda’s 5th, Nivi’s 7th Hladini’s 13th and Janaki’s on the 15th.

We like to celebrate birthdays in Audarya Bhavan with Birthday Walks, and we’ve written up some ways you can help us give your children the best experience on their birthdays. So please read the attached handout.

I have a special request that in the New Year we commit to returning homework and Friday folders on time. Homework folders need to be returned on Fridays by 8:00, and Friday folders need to be returned on Mondays by 8:00. Remember the school charges for lost folders, so please make a plan to keep track of folders and get them returned on time.

Remember: no school on the 18th and 21th.
Good health to you and your family in the New Year.

Cordially,
Satyaki devi dasi

Cow Seva Results

A check for $215 was presented to Mother Devaki. Each class received a certificate of appreciation from Save the Cow.Thanks to the hard work and generosity of our students, we were able to present a check for $215 to Save the Cow.  These funds will go toward the purchase of:

  • 12 foot pasture gate
  • 150 pounds of feed grain
  • Growing and harvesting of 1 hay roll
  • Fertilization and maintenance of 1 acre of pasture

The enthusiasm our students demonstrate in helping others is heartwarming.  Thank you for supporting them in their charitable efforts.

Audarya Bhavan December Newsletter

Dear Families,

This is one of the most wonderful times of the year in Audarya Bhavan. November was a special month for us. Along with Bhakti and Madhurya Bhavans, we raised enough money to purchase much needed items for Krishna’s cow. Of course, Star Gazing night was great fun. It gave us a chance to observe and learn about the constellations in the night sky right above our classroom. The children all appreciated Bhakti Caru Swami’s visit to our classroom. He encouraged everyone in their spiritual life. We can’t forget Madhava’s kirtan. Jishnu said, “I just want to keep chanting.” And we can’t forget our Thanksgiving Lunch. Thanks to all who helped make these wonderful events happen.

On the 19th, we will have a holiday party and Secret Santa gift exchange. Remember gifts can be homemade, but if you do purchase one, spend no more than two dollars.

We also are looking forward to “Outreach Week” which starts on the 12th. During this week, emphasis will be placed on helping the children understand the importance of book and prasadam distribution, and to give them a chance to share Krishna consciousness with the people of Alachua and Gainesville.

My special thanks to the parents who volunteered their time and money to help make Star Gazing a night filled with memorable events for the children. I appreciate your continued support.

I will be out of town from December 9th to January 2rd. While I’m away, Radha and Aditi will be taking care of the class.

We have two birthdays: Vrindavani’s on the 10th and Aurora’s on the 16th.

Remember Winter Break starts December the 20th, and students return to school on January 3rd. I wish those traveling during the break safe travels and happy journeys.

Cordially,

Satyaki dasi
