Upcoming School Events in November

Dear Families,

We have a number of exciting events in the coming two weeks for you to add to your calendar. Please see the details below:

Annual Family School Night - Thursday, Nov. 9th

Please join us for our annual family school night event on Thursday, November 9th from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm. You will have the opportunity to visit all the classrooms, see student work demonstrations, participate in a special Damodara prayer with candle offering, launch sky lanterns, and enjoy tea and cookies.

Govardhana Puja / Go Puja Celebration - Monday, Nov. 13

This year we will be honoring Go Puja and Govardhana Puja in a slightly different way to previous years. The students will visit the barn at the Eco Farm in the morning to participate in Go Puja, and have the opportunity to feed the cows. In the afternoon we will celebrate Govardhana Puja by circumambulating a prasadam Hill. Please note the following:

• Lunch will not be provided as in prior years, so please pack a lunch for your child that day.

• Students may dress up as Inhabitants of Vrindavan, though this is optional.

• We are looking for volunteers to make preparations for Govardhana Hill (sweet and savory). If you are able to make a preparation, please let us know by replying to this email. You may drop off your preparations at school on the morning of the 13th up until 10:00 am.

• Families are invited to join us from 1:30 pm to celebrate and circumambulate Govardhana Hill.

• Dismissal is at 2:00 pm.

• Please note that we will refer to the Off Campus Activity Permission Form you filled out at the beginning of the school year to check which students have permission to visit the Eco Farm. If you are uncertain whether you gave your child permission, please contact the school office.

Thanksgiving Potluck - Friday, Nov. 17

Our annual Thanksgiving Potluck is on Friday, November 17, and students will share a wonderful Thanksgiving-style feast with preparations brought from home.

Please look out for an email notification next week with more information and a form for you to sign up to make a Thanksgiving preparation for your child’s class.
