Gaura Purnima Week Notes and Reminders

There is a lot going on during the week of February 26 in honor of the holy appearance day of *Lord Chaitanya, so we wanted to put it all together in one place for you.

Student Performances

All classes are performing in honor of Lord Chaitanya on Thursday, March 1 at the New Raman Reti Temple at 5:00 p.m. Each class has a specific time and meeting place, along with dress requirements for their performance. Please note the specific instructions for your child’s class that will be sent by your child’s teacher.

Early Dismissal and Aftercare

To give students and teachers enough time to be prepared for the evening performance, all classes will dismiss at 2 p.m. on Thursday. All students should be picked up by 2:10 p.m. Aftercare will not be available.

Pancha Tattva Darshan and Holy Name Gathering

All families are invited to a special Pancha Tattva Darshan and Holy Name Gathering in the Krishna Sharanam classroom on Friday, March 2 at 2:15 p.m. The Krishna Sharanam students are putting considerable effort into transforming their classroom into a spiritual oasis for this event. You will definitely want to stop by.

*Lord Chaitanya is the 15th century incarnation of Lord Krishna who brought us the practice of chanting the Hare Krishna maha mantra:

Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare

Bike Week Reminder

Bike Week 2018

Bhaktivedanta Academy's re-scheduled annual Bike Week starts Monday, February 5, for students in Audarya Bhavan, Madhurya Bhavan, and Krishna Sharanam. To participate, students need to bring a bicycle in good working order and most importantly, a helmet. Please examine and test ride your child's bike before bringing it to school. In particular, check to make sure that:

  • tires are fully inflated and are not leaking air;

  • chain is not loose and remains on while riding;

  • brakes are working;

  • training wheels are removed;

  • seat is set to the appropriate height.

    Please leave your child's bike and helmet when you drop them off on the Monday morning that bike week begins. The bikes will stay at school until Friday afternoon pick-up.

    We are sorry, but we are not able to train students to ride a bicycle as part of Bike Week. Not all students are required to participate. They will stay back and have free play with other students until the riders return.
