K - 10 Families: Important Step Up for Students Scholarship Information for 2025-26

To the families of children who will be in grade K - 10 in the 2025-26 school year: 

We are checking in with you to determine the status of the Florida Tax Credit / Florida Empowerment Scholarship (FTC/FES) that your child may be eligible for in 2025-26.

If you have already applied for the FTC/FES scholarship for next school year, please complete this form:

Please complete this form by May 15, so we can process your award. You can obtain your child's scholarship status by logging into https://apply.stepupforstudents.org/

If you have not applied for the FTC/FES scholarship, we encourage you to visit the Step Up for Students website to determine your eligibility. The Step Up for Students YouTube channel also contains helpful informational videos regarding the application and renewal process.

Pre-K Families: School Readiness Plus - ALICE Family Scholarship Extension

Scholarship information for current and prospective Pre-K families:

The Early Learning Coalition of Alachua County is offering a new Child Care Tuition Assistance Program called “School Readiness Plus” that could benefit some of our pre-k families. This program is an extension of existing School Readiness funding and targets families who initially did not qualify due to higher income but still need financial assistance.

To be eligible, the applicant must: 

1. have a gross income between 85% and 100% of the State Median Income (see flyer to view income eligibility table).

2. be on the ELCAC waitlist for ALICE families (If you are already on this waitlist, you should have received communication from the ELCAC about this program. If you are not on the waitlist, the first step is to apply by calling 352-375-4110 or visiting ELCalachua.org.)

3. have a purpose for childcare, such as working more than 20 hours per week, attending an educational activity with a minimum of 10 credit hours, or having a combination of work and educational activities.

School Readiness Plus Flier 

Bike Week - February 24 - February 28th

Bhaktivedanta Academy's annual Bike Week starts Monday, February 24th for all students in Audarya Bhavan,  Madhurya Bhavan and Krishna Sharanam.

To participate, students need to bring a bicycle in good working order and, most importantly, a helmet. Please examine and test ride your child's bike before bringing it to school. In particular, check to make sure that:

● tires are fully inflated and are not leaking air;

● chain is not loose and remains on while riding;

● brakes are working;

● training wheels are removed;

● seat is set to the appropriate height.

Please leave your child's bike and helmet when you drop them off on Monday (Feb 24th) morning. The bikes will stay at school until Friday afternoon pick-up.

We are not able to train students to ride a bicycle as part of Bike Week. Not all students are required to participate (they will stay back and have free play with other students until the riders return).

Apply Now for the 2025-26 School Year!

New student applications are now being accepted for the 2025-26 school year at Bhaktivedanta Academy. We invite you to apply online at www.bhaktischool.org/admissions.

Admission to Bhaktivedanta Academy is a multi-step process with the aim of helping families find the best match between their child and the school. Completion of all the steps in the admissions process is required for an application to be processed. Every application is carefully considered and in no way will a child be denied admission on the basis of race, gender, color, religion, or national origin. Submission of an application does not guarantee enrollment. Due to expected re-enrollments in classes that are at capacity, applications for Lower and Upper Elementary (grades 1 - 6) and grade 10 in our Middle Years Programme for the 2025-2026 school year will automatically be placed into an “on hold" status until re-enrollments are completed. If your child is in one of these grade levels, you are welcome to submit an application for consideration once classroom space availability is known. Applications for Pre-Kindergarten (3 and 4 years old), Kindergarten, and our Middle Years Programme (grades 7, 8, and 9) will be processed as soon as they are received and will be guided on completing the next steps of the application process. Note to families on prior year waitlist: Previous applications cannot be carried forward to this year. We ask that you re-submit your application using the link above. An additional application fee is not required. Although a new application is submitted, it will be given priority.  Prospective Family Open House Event Recording If you did not have the opportunity to attend the online open house event in January, you may watch the recording by clicking below. We highly recommend that all interested families watch the recording before submitting an application.
